I generally don't like "small plates" restaurants. I like big plates. But one notable exception is Sarma, a terrifically popular Middle Eastern-inspired resto not far from where I live. (Also nearby are two other great places run by the same owners: Sofra, a bakery cafe and Oleana, for a long time my favorite "proper" restaurant in Greater Boston.) The night I took my friend Nick to Sarma, we ordered up a storm, beginning with this, listed on the menu as "Seven-Layer Hummus." Count 'em.
