Istanbul. June, 2007

I'm not a big candy eater. OK, I like KitKat and an occasional fine chocolate, but that's about it. So I don't understand the appeal of Turkish Delight. Some people I know go nuts over it. To me, this mildly sweet, gelatinous confection tempts not at all. But it is pretty to look at, preferably while in Turkey.

  1. That's because you have a finely developed palate. Turkish Delight is pretty but not all that great. I think it's the rose water that puts me off. Tastes like something in the bottom of an old lady's handbag ... which is to say at the bottom of mine.
