The Blue Mosque. Probably the most-visited mosque in Istanbul, if not the world. There is a protocol that is strictly observed (removing shoes, maintaining silence, etc.) and that mosque officials have down to a science, which allows the thousands of visitors to file through systematically and in a relatively orderly manner each day. The crowds inside are daunting and inescapable. Unless you look up.
